Biography

Brian Bacchus, Producer and Remixer, co-founded SoulFeast Music in 2001. SoulFeast Music is a joint production and label venture between Brian Bacchus and Joaquin 'Joe' Claussell. SoulFeast is a soulful and cathartic production entity for dance music production and presentation that incorporates the skills of the producers with othes in the underground dance music community. Before SoulFeast Music, Brian was Sr. Director of A&R for EMI-Blue Note Records from 1997 to 2001. While there, he organized and implemented an A&R program that culminated in one of the most successful international signings in the last 20 years of the music business. He was responsible for working with artists to realize their artistic vision within the appropriate recording budgets; Created budgets and contracted studios, engineers, musicians and re-mixers; Worked with film companies to procure, clear and sometimes record soundtracks that were to be picked by Blue Note/ EMI; Responsible for a varying roster of up to 38 acts; Worked with producers and artists to deliver a true artistic vision for each recording project; Accountable for delivering projects within budget and on time; Oversaw all the processes in delivering a recording to completion. While there, he worked with high profile artists such as Cassandra Wilson, Bobby McFerrin, Joe Lovano, SouLive, Karl Denson, Jason Moran, Lena Horne and Dianne Reeves, and is responsible for signing and producing Ronny Jordan as well as signing & A&R'ing singer/songwriter Norah Jones. Before EMI, Brian was VP Antiles Records at Island Records from 1990-1992.
