University Housing

University housing for all students is administered through the Office of Housing and Residence Life, and features student accommodations from the traditional residence halls to apartments and special interest housing.

Living in a residence hall is a great way to establish close friendships, get involved in social and cultural activities and student government, and meet fellow students from across the country and around the world. A large majority of Tisch students live in university housing, developing relationships beyond the classroom.

The Tisch Office of Student Affairs has a close working relationship with Housing and Residence Life. We encourage all students to address their questions, concerns, and suggestions regarding student housing directly to the Housing and Residence Life office, but we are always available to help you as the need arises.

Off-Campus Housing

The Off-Campus Housing Office (OCHU), under the auspices of the Office of Housing and Residence Life, was created to assist NYU students who are looking for housing in non-University properties in and around New York City. The Off-Campus Housing Office makes available, exclusively to NYU students, listings of locations available for rent through private landlords, property managers, brokers, and real estate agents. These listings are updated daily and can be accessed and printed out by using computer terminals in the Off-Campus Housing Office. Because the housing market in New York City can be quite intimidating, a variety of resources are also available to help with your search for off-campus housing. For more information, please call 212-998-4620 or visit the OCHU web site.
