All Recorded Music courses are open to majors only.
However, if you are a student at New York University, but not a major in The Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music, you are eligible to submit an online non-major course request below. If there are spots available, they will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please carefully read our policies and procedures indicated below.
POLICY:
- All Recorded Music courses are open to majors only. However, if there is space available in a course, then those spaces may be filled by interested non-majors.
- Recorded Music production courses will open to non-majors, pending available space, during the first week of classes. All other Recorded Music courses will open to non-majors, pending available space, starting Monday, November 30.
- If there is a prerequisite for the course, which you have not completed, you must provide information on your request form indicating your skill level and any applicable knowledge. This information is essential in helping the department evaluate whether or not you will be able to succeed in the course.
- You must complete the form correctly. If you do not follow directions, we may contact you to resubmit your form. This will result in your losing a higher spot on the wait list.
PROCEDURE:
- Complete the following online request form. By completing this form, you will be placed on an in-house manual wait list.
- At the appropriate time, we will contact you in the order requests were received to notify you of whether or not there is space available in the course.
- Please do NOT request more than one course on the form at a time. You must complete a separate request for each course you are interested in taking.
*IMPORTANT: Because of high demand, and limited available space, you are strongly encouraged to plan an alternate schedule.
